  • The pharmaceutical Group’s new head office, which will guide its growth and internationalisation strategies, will be located in Parma and will house around 540 people.
  • People, innovation, sustainability: three words which sum up the philosophy behind this new project, developed on the basis of a new vision of the workplace in shared areas tailored to the type of activities carried out, valorising and using communal areas, and focussing on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

Parma, 22nd March 2018 – The Chiesi Group (Chiesi) has today announced that work has begun to build its new headquarters located in Parma, amid celebrations attended by the local authorities to lay the foundation stone.

The future head office, which will be built opposite the Chiesi Research Centre, officially opened in 2011, is to cover an area of 46,300 square metres and will house around 540 people from the executive offices of the research-oriented international Group, whose affiliates are currently present in 27 countries worldwide.

“Being part of a broader strategic picture aimed at reinforcing and supporting the Group’s growth and internationalisation, the project for the construction of the new Headquarters represents a cornerstone of our strategy to drive global development”, explains Ugo Di Francesco, Group Chief Executive Officer. “A step forward into the future we want beginning in Parma, the city where Chiesi was founded and in whose local area we want to continue investing, to respond competitively to the challenges of a constantly evolving pharmaceutical context”.

The project is driven by three main elements. First, a new vision of the workplace, organised into shared offices and arranged depending on the activities carried out, with the aim of promoting and optimising teamwork. Second, collective spaces will be enhanced, in order to encourage a social atmosphere and people’s wellbeing, and lastly, a particular focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.

“People, innovation, sustainability: these three key words form the basis of the thinking behind the future Headquarters and also the leitmotiv of the celebrations to lay the foundation stone, which provided an occasion for our people to take part alongside the members of our family”, says Alessandro Chiesi, Head of Region Europe and Sponsor of the Chiesi Headquarters Project. “People are at the heart of this project, and they have actively contributed to conceiving and planning their future workplace. We want the new head office to be a comfortable, people-friendly environment, where our colleagues can immerse themselves in an atmosphere conducive to innovation and be stimulated to generate new ideas, therefore contributing to the growth of the company thanks to a continual exchange of knowledge and experience”.

Construction work on the new Chiesi headquarters is expected to be completed by 2020.
