Sustainability across our value chain

At Chiesi, our commitment to a more sustainable supply chain focuses both on managing environmental, social, and economic impacts and on promoting good governance practices throughout the entire life cycle of goods and services.

This approach, inspired by the United Nations Global Compact, is made possible thanks to the commitment of our partners with whom, through ambitious and fair sustainability standards, we can guide the ecosystem toward a more just and healthier future.

Chiesi Code of Interdependence

The Code of Interdependence (CoI), our standard of conduct for suppliers, partners, and distributors, was developed in 2019 in collaboration with key strategic partners who share our commitment to sustainability and updated in 2025.

Rooted in 11 selected UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the code defines reference values, mandatory requirements as well as improvement actions. The code is also aligned with the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI), the International Labor Organization (ILO), and B Corp principles.

More than 70% of Chiesi Group's annual strategic spend is with suppliers who have adopted the Code of Interdependence.

EcoVadis

The adoption of the EcoVadis platform also helps us engage in dialogue and jointly assess our shared progress toward a more sustainable value chain and the achievement of our Scope 3 emissions-reduction targets.

In 2025, Chiesi received the EcoVadis Platinum Medal with a score of 88/100. EcoVadis Platinum Medals are given to companies that meet the organization’s sustainability criteria and demonstrate excellence across four key areas: environment, ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
