Chiesi Group General Counsel, Marco Vecchia, steps in as Interim CEO
Parma (Italy) December 16th, 2022 – After Chiesi Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ugo Di Francesco left the company on 15 December, the Board of Directors appointed Marco Vecchia as Interim CEO on 16 December. Along with the interim CEO responsibilities, Marco takes over as Head of Global Strategy & Corporate Development, building on his extensive experience and insights accumulated over more than three decades at Chiesi in various roles. To ensure stability and continuity in this transitional period, Marco continues to work closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee members as he takes on this new role.
The announcement of the Interim CEO is part of ensuring a seamless transition of responsibilities. We have launched our external search for a new Chiesi CEO, and Marco has our full trust and support in the meantime. Together with Marco, we are confident that we will maintain our growth momentum as well as our commitment to patients and we look forward to continuing on our path to have a positive impact on our community, value chain and environment.
