Giacomo Chiesi awarded by PharmaVoice100

Date: 09/09/2022

Since 2005, PharmaVoice100 has been celebrating men and women who have distinguished themselves in the life sciences for their innovative approaches, becoming a benchmark for their peers, companies, and the entire sector.

For the 2022 edition, PharmaVoice also named Giacomo Chiesi, Head of Global Rare Diseases, among the most influential people for his ability to inspire and view challenges as opportunities and not obstacles, for his passion and conviction, and for his dedication to improving the lives of patients.

In just two years, since the launch of GRD in 2020, he has built a global organization with a presence in more than 20 countries and a 300-person workforce. With a robust pipeline, including six treatments approved in various countries for a range of disorders — such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease — and others in late-stage development for Fabry disease and more, the new business unit already boasts a success story.

A group that works with the intent to create a world where it is common to have a therapy for all diseases and acts as a force for good, for society and the planet. As a leader, he encouraged to “reflect on how their individual efforts have made a difference in the quest to address the unmet needs of the rare disease community[1].”

The award ceremony will be held on September 15 during the "PharmaVoice100: The Next Era of Leadership" event and will be broadcast live in streaming on the magazine's website.
