World Prematurity Day: Chiesi’s commitment for the premature babies

Date: 30/11/2021

At Chiesi we are committed to saving the life of the premature babies and to improving the quality of their life and the air they breathe. For this reason, this year to celebrate the World Prematurity Day (November 17), we launched several initiatives to engage our people all around the world.

To offer to the future generations a better future, we are partnering with 3Bee, an Italian company committed in safeguarding the bees, which are responsible for the biodiversity of the environment and the quality of the air, through the adoption of their hive-tech technology.  Also, together with 3bee we committed to creating the “Chiesi’s Biodiversity Oasis”, by planting 100 trees that will increase the survival of bees.

Our commitment to the most vulnerable patients is always strong, and that's why on November 17 we celebrated World Prematurity Day in our purple-lit offices as well, through a series of initiatives throughout the week to engage and raise awareness among our colleagues.

Their engagement has been, indeed, stronger than ever: in all Cafeterias of the Chiesi sites in Parma, we launched the Caffè Sospeso initiative, to support the Chiesi Foundation’s NEST project, which aims to improve the quality of neonatal care in low- and middle-income countries paying specific attention to premature, sick, unwell and small for gestational age babies. Thanks to the initiative, our colleagues donated 870 coffees to support the project!

For every donation our colleagues received a sticker to write a message and show their commitment

We were able to celebrate also involving our colleagues from the affiliates thanks to the virtual hive: trough this platform our colleagues from all over the world were able to leave a message of solidarity to show their support to this important day and to upload pictures of their children’s drawings.

Dealing with an issue as sensitive as prematurity is complex, but Chiesi is always at the frontline to raise awareness by sharing the commitment of all those who deal with the most vulnerable on a daily basis.
